Selective Process

Selective Process - Regular Student
The Selective Process for student entry (regular student) in the Graduate Program in Agroecology and Sustainable Rural Development (PPGADR) is held annually, with a date set by the Course Collegiate.

The announcement of the selection process is published by the Dean’s Office and will define the number of vacancies, the deadlines, the form of evaluation, the selection criteria and the required documentation. Usually, the notice is published from February to April and up to 20 vacancies are offered annually. Classes start in the second semester (August) of each year.


The stages and rules of the Selective Process are defined in the announcement, and may change from one year to the next. The selection process may contain the following steps:
I - Written evaluation of knowledge;
II - Analysis and evaluation of the curriculum;
III – Interview;

Admission of foreigners
Foreign applicants residing abroad may apply for the selective process for admission to the Masters’ Degree Course of the Graduate Program in Agroecology and Sustainable Rural Development (PPGADR), subject to the Program Rules, Normative Instruction No. 20/PROPEPG/UFFS/2018 and the research projects of professors in each research line of the Program.

Foreigners who have completed higher education undergraduate courses in the area related to PPGADR, duly recognized by the legal instance of the country where the course was held, may apply for admission.

Foreign applicants may apply for one of the following:

– Annual notice of selective process: the foreign student may apply for the regular selective process, according to criteria established and indicated in the specific announcement.

– Continuous flow: Registration can be done at any time by sending the required documentation directly to the PPGADR Coordination.

Student Selection in Isolated Disciplines (special student)
They may enroll in the Selective Process for admission to isolated disciplines in the Master’s degree course in Agroecology and Sustainable Rural Development.

The Selective Process for Special Student entry may occur every six months, depending on the subject offer and availability of vacancies. Notices for student entry in single subjects are published in the months leading up to the start of classes, usually in February and July of each year.

The condition of special student confers the right, only, to the declaration of completion of the subjects taken, including the amendment, program, workload (credits), attendance, responsible teacher and the grade obtained by the student. The student may request the use of the course taken, if selected as a regular student of the course.
